The Oceania Athletics Championships 2026 (18-23 May) heads to in Darwin, Australia. Oceania’s biggest athletics event brings the best together leading track and field athletes from across the Oceania Area. Competition includes Senior, Junior, Para, and Masters categories, bringing athletes of all ages, all abilities, all together.

Any athlete over the age of 30 is invited to compete in the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup, with 5-year age categories from 30, and the first three competitors in each age group will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal respectively.

Athletes from outside the Oceania Area will be able to compete in the Masters events but will only be eligible for Invitational Medals.

In addition to Individual Medals, the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup will be presented to the best performing male and female athlete according to the age graded tables in the following categories:

Sprints /Hurdles                                         60, 100, 200, 400, Short Hurdles, Long Hurdles

Distance/Walks                                           800, 1500, 3000/5000, 3000/5000 Race walk, Steeplechase, Cross Country

Throws                                                            Hammer, Shot, Javelin, Discus, Weight                                        

Jumps and Multi                                         Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Pentathlon

Final Entries will close for international entries 1month prior to the competition, with local entries taken to 1 week prior to the competition. Masters’ athletes will be required to enter individually online via the OAA website and Entry Platform.

Competition will run from Monday 18th May until Saturday 23rd May. Competition will run during the daytime.

Age Groups5-year age groups, from 30 years of age. Athletes age will be determined by the first day of competition, which is May 18, 2026.
Events

60,100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 3000/5000, Short Hurdles, Long Hurdles, Steeplechase*, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Discus, Hammer, Javelin, Shot, Weight, 3000m Walk, Throws Pentathlon, Pentathlon, 4x100 Relay, Mixed 4x400m Relay, Sprint Medley Relay

The Throws Pentathlon will be conducted with the individual throwing event. The first three throws will count towards an athlete throws pentathlon score. If an athlete is only competing in the throw’s pentathlon, they will only receive 3 throws. If competing in the individual throw’s events, they will receive 3 throws, and a further 3 if in the top 8 throwers.

Competition fees (in AUD)

Administration fee - $25 AUD

Fee for events - $40 AUD for Throws Pent and Pentathlon. Others $25.00 per event

Refunds

Prior to the entry closing date, refunds will be accepted less a $20 administration fee. Refunds after the closing date will not be accepted.
