The Landy Trophy 2025: A Unique Masters Athletics Challenge
Victorian Masters Athletics (VMA) proudly presents the 16th edition of The Landy Trophy, taking place PM 30 November 2025. Named in honour of Australian athletics legend John Landy, this iconic event founded by VMA stalwart Richard Trembath celebrates speed, endurance, and the enduring spirit of competition among masters; athletes aged 30 and over.
Competition Format
The Landy Trophy consists of three age-graded, handicapped races:
1. 200m Heats – Run in lanes
2. 1000m Heats – 'Pro-style' (no lanes), approx. 40 mins after 200m
3. 400m Finals:
- Main Final: Top 8 qualifiers based on combined placings in heats (laned event)
- Consolation Finals: Pro-style, no lanes
Registration Process
To assist with planning and to keep entry fees low, a pre-entry system will be introduced:
• Pre-Entry: Register interest (no payment required) via this registration form
• Purpose: Help organisers confirm venue, officials, and equipment needs
