Event entry general Information

Entry

To enter you need to be either: i. a current member of the VMA; OR ii. registered interstate masters athlete or a registered overseas masters athlete

Event location & time

We needed about 130-140 for Lakeside to remain viable as the event venue. From event PRE-ENTRY 78 people registered interest to compete.

So based on this the event for this season has been moved Collingwood Athletics Track.

Address - George Knott Reserve, Heidelberg Rd, Clifton Hill VIC 3068    The first competition group is likely to commence mid-morning. The actual time

will depend on the actual number of entries and will be communicated in the week prior to the event after close of entries.

Event Entry Eligibility to enter

Event is open to all athletes aged 30 years and over. Competition is in 5 year age groups for women & men, starting at ages 30-34.

Competition Formats

Individual Pentathlon: Individual athletes compete across five events, categorized in 5-year age brackets, with medals awarded to top three performers

in both female & male age-groups.

‘Pent-Pals’: Enter as a team of two. Teams can be any two Masters registered athletes of any age - either two women or two men. One athlete completes

2 events and the other the remaining 3 – you choose who does what! Medals will be awarded to the highest scoring women’s and men’s pairs across all

age groups. FOR ENTRY ONE PERSON ENTERS ON BEHALF OF PAIR. THAT PERSON THEN SENDS EMAIL TO registrar@vicmastersaths.org.au TO ADVISE OF

THEIR PAIRING WITH THE OTHER PERSON.

Event Entry cost

This event will be supported by paid officials. All recorded performances for both individual events and the overall Pentathlon are recognized for setting

of records.

The cost of entry to the event is $35, which covers all five Pentathlon events and the cost of paid officials and other miscellaneous costs.

There may be an additional cost for event helpers - read next section.

Event Helpers

This year we will continue our successful policy of relying on friends and family members to do the basic field event helper duties (see below) to support

the event officials.

It is expected that most competitors will be able to nominate a family member or friend who can help on the day.  These people will "travel with the

group " of the person competing.  It is not a condition of entry that you must nominate a helper, however without helpers the event cannot take place so

in this regard it is hoped that all athletes understand this and that most will be able to nominate a helper, who as stated will also get to see them

complete in all events.

If a competing athlete is not able to nominate a helper, then an additional $ 15 will be paid in lieu and this will be used to fund paid helpers to

ensure that the event runs smoothly.

Field Event Helper duties are: Shot Put, Discus, Javelin: return implement after each throw, spike where implement lands, record distance advised by

official; Long Jump: spike where jump lands, rake sandpit x 2, read wind-gauge, record distance advised by official. NB. At Discus, athlete to pull tape.

Uniform

All Victorian athletes are to wear the athletics top of either:  their (i) Masters mid-week venue; (ii) “home track” eg. AV club; (iii) any other top as agreed

with the Event Manager eg. a top of colour of their local athletics club or VMA Venue.

Event Timetable

Refer to the 2025 event timetable (attached to EML event entries open email) as a guide only for this event). The final event timetable will only be known

once entries close.
