Round 4 of the VMA 30+ Championship 'Browne Shield' competition

 Location: Knox Athletics Track, Bunjil Way, off Ferntree Gully Road

Sign-in on-the-day: before 8:30 am (check-in to confirm participation by 6pm Saturday 1st August)

The newly named "Lavinia Petrie" 10 mile  Road Championship is the fourth of the five events in the winter series of the 2026 VMA Browne Shield competition.  This competition also includes awards for the "most consistent" (male & female) and "most improved" (5 male and 5 female) athletes based on age graded percentages. You need to compete in at least FOUR of the five events to be eligible for these awards.    

The five events of the Browne Shield are: 1. 6/8km Cross Country – May 24th (completed) ; 2. 10,000m Track, Casey Cardinia – June 21st (completed); 3. 10km Road, Braeside Park – July 12th; 4.  10 Mile Road, Knox – August 2nd; 5. Half Marathon, six options - August 9th to September 20th.

To enter you need to be 30+years of age and be a Masters’ affiliated athlete. VMA members: enter using link sent in event email sent to all VMA members the day that event entry opened = Wednesday June 23rd, 2026. This is quicker than using the general event entry as your personal details are pre-populated. If you are not a VMA member or are not a Masters affiliated athlete see next section. Interstate & Overseas athletes: are welcome to compete by invitation.

Any non-masters affiliated athlete will be required to join Victorian Masters Athletics (VMA) – for the special new member cost of just $25 prior to entering the event. This can be done at https://emlsports.com/registration/vma-membership-2026-e93d9

All athletes are to wear their 30+ Team / Venue competition tops in line with recent VMA events. Or in other words, just wear whatever your normal training/competition top is.

Event entry: $15 + 5$ Officials fee =$20. ENTRIES CLOSE Monday 27th July @ 9:00 pm. No entries will be accepted after the entries close date or on the day.

Refunds

Refunds will be given up until the Friday before competition in the event of injury or unforeseen personal circumstances.
